Krug
Krug, probably the most famous Champagne House was founded in 1843. It was bought by Moet-Hennessy in 1999, with the Krug family continuing to run it. They have 50 acres of vines and produces at least 42,000 cases annually of highly distinctive wines,  including the elegant single vineyard Clos du Mesnil.

Krug has a huge stock of mature and maturing champagnes, estimated at about 300,000 cases. Under the direction of brothers Henri and Remi Krug, the house has pursued a stringent policy of quality. All the champagnes (except Krug Rosé) age for at least six years on their lees, in the cellars before release, making them distinctively rich and flavourful. Krug bottlings age beautifully for over a decade after release, and have a cult status.
