Pol Roger
Pol Roger is one of the few remaining family run independent Champagne Houses. In the UK it is most famous for being Winston Churchill's favourite. Pol Roger founded his champagne house in Epernay in 1849. Over the next fifty years, until his death in 1899, he built his business into one of the most respected in Champagne and, in particular, forged strong trade links with Britain. To date, three generations of his direct descendants have run the company. In 1998, the management team was joined by Patrice Noyelle who, with the background experience of his own family wine company in Burgundy, heads the company as "Président du Directoire", while a supervisory board of family members (the Conseil de Surveillance) is headed by Christian de Billy, a great grandson of the founder.
