Blagny
Blagny is a complete contrast to Meursault. It is set high in the hills and
is no more than the Manoir of the Comptesse de Montlivault and a cluster of
houses to serve it. The vineyard faces south-east on the Meursault side and
the soil is limestone again, pebbly on the higher slopes and white and
crumbly lower down. The rock
is harder and the soil deeper on the Puligny side where the slopes face
slightly more towards the east.
