Volnay
First-rate growers inhabit the relatively small commune of Volnay and the
wines produced are excellent. They are typically delicate and elegant, a
reflection of the lighter soil compared to that of neighbouring Pommard.
Volnay consists of 35 premier crus producing nearly 700,000 bottles a year,
around 570, 000 bottles of village wine is also produced.
